For several reasons, there will be cases when you need to refund an order. This means that you will have to return the customers the purchases they have already made. When refunding an order, you could restock the items and send an email of notification to the customer.

Items that belong to an order are categorized based on their fulfillment status.

If an order is refunded to store credit via Shopify POS, then the amount could be refunded to the original purchase method after that. Take a look at Selling in person to view more information related to Shopify POS.

  • Caution:

For orders that go together with discount codes, the amount the customer paid for the products might be smaller than the amount you could refund. Bear in mind that refunds cannot be reversed, so choose the refund amount with care.
